Colt Compressors and Their Applications

Colt Group has been in the industry for quite a long time. They have been delivering quality compressors and other industrial units that can be used in various industries. Quality control checks at every stage production, experienced and efficient team members and years of industry exposure had made the company one of the pioneer choices for industry relevant compressor units. They deliver all kinds of compressor unit’s right one the simplest air compressors to some of the complex ones. Read further to know more details about the compressors and their applications.

Compressor and Their Types

By definition, a compressor is a mechanical device that is used to increase air pressure by substantially reducing the volume. Air compressors are one of the basic and widely used types of compressors that are available in the market. The gas compressors can be broadly categorised into 2 namely positive displacement and dynamic compressors. Some of the types of compressors used highly in multiple industries are as follows:

  • Reciprocating compressors
  • Ionic liquid piston compressors
  • Rotary screw compressors
  • Scroll compressors
  • CO2 Reciprocating Compressor
  • Diaphragm compressors
  • Centrifugal compressors
  • Axial compressors and many more

Applications of Air Compressors

The very common and widely used applications of the compressors are literally limitless. They are used in varied industries and some of those even found applications in daily use. The simplest application is inflating a balloon or a tyre. Yes, air compressors can be used to inflate a flat tyre, airbeds, balloons etc. Some of the other applications are listed below:

  • Fountains
  • Scuba diving
  • Cooling
  • Spray painting
  • Engines
  • Manufacturing units
  • Industrial applications
  • Workshops
  • Construction and many more

The type of the compressor used in different application may vary, but each application utilises the same underlying principle. Colt as a brand understands the specific requirements and needs of specific industries and delivers the products as per the client specification without compromising on the overall quality of the end product.

About Air Receivers

Like the compressed air, another vital component of the compressed air system is the Air Receivers or the compressed air tank. The main aim of this unit is to act as a temporary storage unit and improves the efficiency of the system. It is not an integral or mandatory part of the system, but having one will definitely improve the loading unloading capacity of the compressor. So, for a layman, these units store the compressor air before it finally enters the piping system, acting as a buffering unit. Based on their dimensions and constructional specifications, air receivers can be classified into wet and dry.

Often the compressed air system has an integrated dryer or a unit that regulates the moisture content inside, but for those that does not have one needs to regulate the moisture as that can lead to damage and malfunctioning of the entire unit. Every unit has a designated application and should be used for the very same purpose to maintain proper mechanism. At Colt all the industry regulations and guidelines are strictly followed. Colt equipment’s have a well laid out quality policy that is strictly adhered to at every stage of production.
